FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

We know that planning your big day can come with a lot of questions and concerns; which is why we outlined some of our most frequently asked questions here to help ease some of your stress! If you don't see some of your questions outlined here, don't worry! Please reach out through our contact us page for any more inquiries!

How do I schedule my trial?
We usually recommend scheduling your trial about 12 weeks prior to your wedding date. By this time, most of the details of your wedding are finalized, which will help us provide you with the completed look. We ask you to arrive at your trial with a clean, make-up free and moisturized face. We also ask that a few days prior to your trial to send us some inspiration photos of hair and make-up you would like.
We are happy to try and coordinate your trial with other milestones in your wedding planning such as a dress fitting, bridal shower, or engagement photos! Although we cannot guarantee full availability on those days, we will do our best to accommodate!

How do I secure and book my wedding date?
If you are interested in moving forward with finding out more information about securing a wedding date and trial, you can visit the contact page on our website! From there, we ask that you fill out our contact form. We can then set up our welcome call to go over any further questions, details or concerns you may have. After this call, we will follow up with a recap and any remaining questions we may have for you. We will then put together our contract for moving forward.

A signed contract and a 30% non-refundable retainer are required to secure your date. We recommend booking around 12 months in advance, or as soon as you can to make sure we are able to be there for you on your special day!

How long do the services take?
Based on our experience, we are happy to give you an estimate that depends on your bridal party size. We can’t provide exact timing due to the difference in skin and hair types, however we estimate about 45 minutes for the bride’s hair and about 60 minutes for the bride’s makeup. We estimate about 30 minutes for attendant’s hair and about 45 minutes for attendant’s makeup. If you are on a very short time frame, we can add an additional stylist for a fee of $150.

What do I need to do the day of?
Please ask all attendant’s to arrive with clean and exfoliated faces (mascara and make-up free!). We ask that each attendant has 3 inspiration photos of both hair and make-up. If you are receiving our services at a hotel, please call up a barstool chair per make-up artist the morning of. Prepare open spaces with empty tables for our kits and tools. If possible, please have space available closest to the window so we can work with the natural light!

Do you travel to me?
Yes! Not Your Average Bella is an on-site services company; this means we will come to your venue, hotel, or your home to prepare you and your attendants. Whether your wedding is 5 miles away or 200, NYAB is willing to travel with you to make your day special!
